Late Late Show Version 2.0
Jul. 5th, 2002 12:42 amYes, I am bringing back the
late_late_show! And I want it to work this time. So, with that in mind here are the things all of you should know about the program.
1. When.
Sunday Nights at 12 Midnight Eastern/9PM Pacific time (on AIM of course).
This is the summer schedule for the show. It will shift back to Friday Nights in the Fall.
2. Being A Guest.
I need you! I want you! (And you thought you'd never hear me say those words to you.)
It's all about timing. I want to book the entire summer's worth of guests ASAP (this is for the purposes of writing the shows). So if you're interested in appearing on an episode, here's the criteria:
a) Have a Project. A film, a music tour or new CD, a book, a summer replacement series (has Simon from "American Idol" gotten a journal yet?)
b) Be a good storyteller. This could replace the need for a project in some cases, but we are yielding the right of way to those who have specific item to plug.
I'd like to get people on within a week of their projects, so look at when things are happening for you, and contact me about the appropriate time frame!
3. Being An Audience Member.
Audience members are now admitted BY INVITATION ONLY. That means that only the guests may specifically ask for people to be invited to the taping of the show. All other audience members will be admitted at the discretion of the host only. Friends of friends may not be invited, unless pre-approved. This is to prevent the another debacle similar to the one that happened in the most recent Late Late Show.
4. Understand How Much Fun This Is!
It's a venue to showcase who you are, so have a good time with it! I believe this is one of the most unique experiences running concurrently with the MBP community, so it's to your advantage to enjoy it!

Date: 2002-07-05 07:21 am (UTC)My name is Ville Valo, and I am the lead singer of a Finnish band called HIM. I start by introducing myself, because most people in North America do not know me yet. Which is only logic, since we haven't really started out there. A fact that should be changing this summer: thanks to Jimmy Pop from the Bloodhound Gang and Bam Margera (http://www.livejournal.com/users/bamargera) (you might have seen Bam in the MTV series Jackass or on one of Tony Hawk's skater tours), who is going to use five of our songs in his upcoming movie Haggard, the first ever American HIM album should be coming out this summer and we are planning on a club tour sometime soon.
Believe it or not, even though I don't have much of a career in the US and neighbouring countries, there are loads of stories I could tell you, and no, they do not all evolve around my father's sex shop.

I'd first like to express my thanks that you're interested in my humble little program. I'm surprised you've even heard of it.
Obviously having someone of your legendary status would be a coup and a very big draw, so I would be completely delighted to welcome you to the program.
HOWEVER...
