A delightful afternoon spent with [livejournal.com profile] portia_de_rossi and her girlfriend Francesca Gregorini! We got a bit silly in the kitchen and made various treats, none of which were that filling, but I think that was the idea.

We split one omlette between the three of us, ate a bite of lox and yes, Portia, that Aussie Sheila herself, fed me a good helping of Vegemite. You know, it isn't that bad? It was a little bit salty, but it certainly didn't taste the way it was promised. I could eat some of it, daily, I'm sure.

Frankie and Portia played their guitars and sang some Beatles songs to cheer me, and then Portia and I had a talk about what's going on with a certain sitcom star that we both know.

I didn't tell her anything anyone hasn't already heard, so there was no "great" revelation. Still sometimes just talking things out is what is needed to make it all clear!

Of course, that didn't happen, either. The only thing that will be clear is when Debra and I get to talk with each other about what's happening. Still, there's nothing more kind than a friend who is willing to listen to you prattle on about such stuff. I'm sending Portia and Frankie a fruit basket.

The rest of the day I went to Virgin on Sunset and picked up the new Vanessa Carlton, Norah Jones and John Mayer. Incredible stuff!

I'm feeling better. How about you?

It sounds like you had a pretty great day.

I would really, really like to talk to you. I'm sorry I missed your call last night, I was asleep. I slept right though and got the message this morning.

I'm glad you're feeling better darling. I'm sure it wasn't the Vegemite that did it, but I glad you tried it without complaining! Talking about things usually helps, and I was glad I could listen. Frankie and I really enjoyed your company.
