It's All About Oscar!

Well, I was supposed to go with debra_messing to n_kidman's Oscar Party at the Australian Consulate, or some such thing, but a lot of us were hanging out (as is our wont these days), and just as I was about to leave, oscar_statuette arrived!

I was just chatting with Gwyneth paltrow when he showed up, and we had to talk about my show on Friday (going over the procedures and the topics), and a bit about his on Sunday (just getting the overview of what's coming up)! I brought Oscar into the room, and like a magnet, everyone was attracted.

Immediately, the conversation turned to film, and everyone started talking about their favorite movies, what films that should have won but didn't and which ones didn't win but deserved to.

Obviously, this went on for a while. Oscar sat relatively quietly throughout, with a bemused look on his face. He clearly enjoys all of the debates!

We were there tossing around nominees' names, when someone (I'm pretty sure it was amanda_latona), suggested we have an Oscar Pool! So, I went off and created a place for you to make your picks. It's a bit complicated, so I'll be as clear as I can with instructions on how to join in a second.

I tried to reach Deb to apologize for not making it to the party. I know she was expecting me to join her. But I really didn't know Oscar was going to show up or that the evening would play itself out the way it did. Apologies to her. And I know I sort of wound up ditching Gwyn, at least conversationally, because when Oscar came in, I was focused on him for that time.

Hopefully, as long as nothing else conspires to prevent it, I'll be going to the Miramax Party with Gwyn, Saturday Night. It would be a good "make good" for that.

Here's how to Join the Oscar Pool!

1. Go to

http://moviegames.yahoo.com/

2. Get a Yahoo ID (if you don't have one already) and sign in.

3. Click on the Button that says "Join a Private Group."

4. On the line that asks for "Group #" type:

5. Password:

goldberg4

That should do it! The rest is self-explanatory. Make your picks! We'll all watch and see how we do! It should be fun!

If you don't have a yahoo id, you need to sign up for one.

THEN sign in. go back to the link above and click on the "join a private group" button. If you're still having problems, let me know tonight!

oh no, I made you use the befuddled icon! when I hit the link it's the page for Yahoo! Movies Oscar Pool. There's a link that says, "Sign Up For Oscar pool now" and some other stuff in the navigation bars to the side. What do I do? I have hit the button to sign up for the pool but I'm not sure if that's right, I don't know where to put the game # and password. help!
