What an odd week. It began with a charming and somewhat romantic dinner, and it ends with me eating Chinese takeout alone, and wondering what could possibly happen next.

The show on Tuesday was not fun, but, as per my philosophy for 2002, I'm not dwelling on it. I only mentioned it again to point out how great the Friday night show was!

k_richardson did not disappoint! The transcript of the show is up at the

late_late_show journal, if you couldn't attend.

I picked up the latest Entertainment Weekly which had a story all about the Late Night Wars, and guess who didn't even get mentioned? I mean even Conan got named, and he just signed a new contract with NBC so we know he's not going anywhere!

It's pointless for me to even think about it. And yet, that's all I can seem to do.

Not to mention there's a ton of nasty stuff going on around here. What about niceness?

I really want to be happy. What would do it... Maybe if

oscar_statuette agrees to appear on the show... That would be a great show. We might even do a Saturday Night before the Academy Award prime time show for that!

I'm going to the Knick-Laker game at the Staples Center tomorrow afternoon. I need some more diversions. Maybe I should coach the Knicks. There's a job with no expectations!

Well, maybe I'll get a laugh out of

jon_stewart. He's hosting Saturday Night Live. Enough lamenting! Time for some carefree amusement!
