Vacation So Far...

For the record, I did NOT go to Cannes. The flight would have left me completely jet lagged, and I wouldn't have made it there in time for the closing ceremonies after all. So, I settled for watching it on IFC, (when the satellite was working)!

Not exactly a vintage year at Cannes anyhow. The closing film was "Modern Times," the Charlie Chaplin classic! I'm not sure what sort of statement they were making with a silent movie as the last film of the year at the world's most famous cinema festival, but it "speaks" volumes.

Instead, I'm just cleaning up stuff around the house, and I'm considering having a barbecue tomorrow. Since it's impromptu, I don't even know if people are around, but if you want to have some grilled food, and you're in the neighborhood, you should drop by!

I guess I'll take a short excursion... maybe I'll drop in on NYC... or just do a quick zip over to Vegas if v_vaughn is around. Money!

Hope your weekend is going great... and yes, I should talk about awards at some point before tomorrow...
