Please! Give [livejournal.com profile] simon_cowell (and America) A Break!

I'm not the biggest expert on singing. I try not to sing in public because I don't have that strong a voice for that sort of thing. I haven't been trained to sing.

But I have to take exception with people who come up to me and say they think that [livejournal.com profile] simon_cowell is "really mean," and that he "shouldn't say the things he says."

Frankly, I don't know how he maintains such self-control! When people who have absolutely no singing ability, people who couldn't hit a note if you put their finger on a piano keyboard and pressed, are expecting to be accepted and welcomed as "talents," well, it's outrageous!

And having to sit through about how many? 50,000 people? That's hazard duty!

Still, I think if you get to the next round, you'd be committed to working as hard as you can to be the best you can be. You don't go out and drink all night before a performance, unless you're name is Bobby Brown.

So, it's remarkable that people are offended. They should be saying "thank you for sparing me the ultimate embarrassment of attempting a career I have no ability to do!"

Speaking of singers... where are my Grammy Nominees for the [livejournal.com profile] late_late_show?

I was going to comment earlier, but forgot? Yeah, that sounds right. *laughs* If we can work something out, I'd love to do the Grammy Late Late show.

Craig, I completely agree with you. Simon is always right in what he says, even if it's harsh.

If schedules were different and I had wound up as an AI2 judge as was discussed, I'd have his back on almost every audition.

That's only because you're so talented and intelligent and because you've been through the music business in a big, big way!

I wish you had been on as a judge.

And I wish I had a talking Craig Kilborn doll that could boost my self-esteem at the press of a button.

Maybe I'll have to hire you as my daily wake up call.

I wish it had worked out too. Paula's just a looney.

Thank you Craig.

You should come give a talk to all the kids if we decide to do an AI3.
