Okay. As most of you know, I don't have a lot of time for things these days, and what time I do have is at very odd hours. I try to log on to AIM, but, let's not go there, girlfriend! I'm going to run down the topics in my typically organized fashion and see if I can inform and entertain all at the same time.

1. Awards.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then I'm flatter than [livejournal.com profile] piperperabo in [livejournal.com profile] must_be_flat! First there was the "parody" of the MBP awards by the [livejournal.com profile] must_be_crap team, then [livejournal.com profile] thalia_sodi created her awards, which I still can't pronounce, Everyone's favorite schnook [livejournal.com profile] cobydick threatened to create a list of nominations worthy of an unflushed gas station toilet, and now there are the [livejournal.com profile] fuckery Awards!

I just hope everyone spaces their presentations out a little bit... I do need to take the tux to the cleaners between ceremonies, you know.

2. Nominations.

Speaking of [livejournal.com profile] fuckery, I was nominated for "Biggest Prude." Please. You can stop cheering.

For me, this creates a couple of questions immediately. Does this mean if I win, my membership in the community gets revoked, since there is a strict "No Prudes" policy there?

Next, who are responsible for the nominations for any of these awards? With the [livejournal.com profile] mbp_awards, [livejournal.com profile] cravenmoorehead and I wanted to make sure that the community was involved in the selection, that it was a somewhat accurate tally of what the group as a whole was thinking. We didn't suggest nominees for the categories. We opened it up to the group and the most frequently nominated people were placed in each category. Was it a perfect system? No. But it was the first time we tried it, so we hoped people would cut the Bubbles some slack.

Personally, I actually love the fact that other people are doing awards. I wish everyone a lot of luck with theirs! I voted in Thalia's and I plan to vote in the [livejournal.com profile] fuckery ones as well.

3. Prude.

And so, it's back to the "Prude" issue.

According to Webster's, a "prude" is: "a person who is excessively or priggishly attentive to propriety or decorum," which, when you think about it, is rather accurate! I'd like to think I set the standard for decorum around here.

I guess, though, that this isn't the definition of prude that was being referenced for these awards, and that this isn't intended as a compliment.

I have made a post in that community and, yes, it wasn't as explicit as some. However, a gentleman doesn't need to broadcast all conquests, share all of the private parts of his life or go into every nook and cranny of his sexual experiences in order to be considered "normal."

If that's what being a prude means to people here, bring it on, bitoych! I'll wear that title like a banner, and wave it like a flag.

4. Big Brother.

I don't think I'm going to make it back to the [livejournal.com profile] big_brother_mbp game... It's tough enough to get my show going again, and I'll have news about that in another day or so. I apologize to the players who have been really patient about it all. I'm willing to try to help out however I can. Perhaps we could schedule a day when we just play out the rest of the game all at once?

5. Late Late Show, the AIM/LJ Version.

[livejournal.com profile] late_late_show is supposed to get back on track, but I haven't had time for that, either. It doesn't help that I didn't organize a proper sign up for dates for the program, and that we still haven't heard from the guests who were scheduled. So, I'm not complaining. But I would like to organize and get the shows set up a week in advance of the actual program, so I can put up billboards with your smiling faces as guests, and publicize it so that you'll have friends in the audience cheering you on! If none of this makes any sense, go check out some of the previous episodes of the [livejournal.com profile] late_late_show!

Right now, it's looking like we're pushing it back (yet) another week, and that the show will return on October 10th. We have a great pool of talent to select from, and I still would love to have everyone that's here on the show at some point. No, I'm not just saying that! I really do like (nearly) all of you, and I hope you will consider attending a show, or being a guest.

6. Late Late Show, The CBS Version.

How cute was [livejournal.com profile] j_biel in her little cap, on the way to her movie premiere with her parents and brother in tow?

7. Acknowledgements.

Hope [livejournal.com profile] gwen_s and [livejournal.com profile] k_richardson had wonderful birthdays!

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Bruce Paltrow. The father of our own Gwyneth [livejournal.com profile] paltrow, was only 58 years old, was a great producer/director, was responsible for a couple of my favorite shows, "The White Shadow" and "St. Elsewhere." My deepest sympathy to Gwyn, her mom Blythe Danner and the rest of her family and friends.
