Well, that was the plan. I rarely invite my guests back to my house, unless they're good friends of the show. Tonight, Jon Favreau who has been a pal since my Daily Show days was on, and of course, Kelly Hu, the remarkable actress from The Scorpion King both got the opportunity to come back to the pool and soak up some of that sweet sweet soaking.
I have to say, Jon has put on the LBS. since he started that show Dinner For Five on the Independent Film Channel. Frankly, I'm starting to think he's the only guest on some episodes, if you catch my drift. Of course, he was the only one who actually showed up for the bathing suit optional swim.
So, I booted him out when he started eating as soon as he walked in. Lame-o.
Probably just as well that Kelly didn't come over. She's married. Or that's the rumor, anyway. But, when you think about it, that doesn't mean things are ruled out. Things are ruled out for other reasons.
Meanwhile, I'm just staring out into the middle distance, thinking of how everything can blend together and just when you have a moment of clarity, you could blink the wrong way, cough, or think of your shopping list and poof! It's all gone.
Of course the other issue is that the schedule was thrown off, since we didn't do a Late Late Show this week. Nothing is where it ought to be. Everything is askew, if you will.
I think I need to go for a drive.
Right now, I'm thinking of taking the 101 as far as I can. Maybe breakfast in San Francisco? Hey! Don't dare me.
