Now, That Was Bad!
Oct. 23rd, 2002 01:42 amI should have realized things were not going great from the start. First of all, the weather got cold and overcast. Not pleasant. I guess it was better than Candlestick/3 COM Park, but still, it wasn't a happy time.
Next, if someone says that they want to meet you at Pac Bell Park by the statue of Willie Mays, don't bother. EVERYONE meets at the statue of Willie Mays, so there was a crowd of about ten thousand people, all wearing orange or black or both, milling around to meet their friends who were either walking over from the BART or took a trolley.
Still, it was a great time. They were showing all the boats in McCovey Cove (and Willie McCovey and Willie Mays were both in attendance)! And Tony Bennett sang! Great stuff.
Forget Rice-A-Roni. Barry Bonds is "The San Francisco Treat!" But despite Barry hitting his third home run of the series (one in each game), it was once again the Angels, who batted around in both the 3rd and 4th innings to blow it open, led by Scott Spiezio...

Final Score: Anaheim - 10 San Francisco - 4.
So, the Giants, if they intend to win it, will have to hope for a return trip to Anaheim on Saturday. But to do THAT, they'll need to win. We'll see if tomorrow brings some Bonds dividends that actually pay.
It got a bit chilly out at the Marina, so I was invited up to Pacific Heights and hung out at a very funky pad. Great view of The GG bridge and you could almost make out Alcatraz.
Tomorrow, during the day, I'm going to hit MOMA, I think, then maybe go exploring, shopping... I don't know what! I won't get into too much trouble. The game starts around 5ish.
Time to end this losing streak! Go Barry! Go Giants!
