Picnic Preparation
Jul. 29th, 2002 11:10 pmI haven't really prepared a meal for a "date" in quite a while. So, I'm a bit out of practice. Still, renee_zellweger seems to be the forgiving type, so we'll see what happens.
I've been putting together a basket full of goodies for us to snack on for the afternoon. Included:
Blue corn tortilla chips with my Famed Lemon Guacamole dip... TV Guide asked me for the recipe, but they never invited me back to host their awards show, so SCREW THEM!
And the salads: I made spicy icebox chicken salad which can be eaten on bread, with utensils or with the fingers... and macaroni salad with olive oil and sundried tomato.
I'm bringing back the sundried tomato, people. It's time.
Going light on the dessert, since I don't eat much in the sweets department, Angel food pound cake with fresh strawberries and blueberries. And I got a hold of a casaba melon and some mild edam cheese.
I haven't made the final decision on where we should go... I'm actually starting to lean a little towards the mountains at the moment. Topanga State Park? I don't know. It's going to be a perfect day, though! You have to leave room for some impromptu events to take place. After all, that's where the fun really starts to happen...
