No, I'm not talking about [livejournal.com profile] joeylaurenadams, who I believe will be back from San Francisco shortly. I'm talking about my workplace neighbor here at Television City, Bill Maher. His show, "Politically Incorrect" had its final original broadcast tonight, and there was a gathering to celebrate the nine years of the run.

It was nice, because my other neighbor in the building, Dennis Miller showed, along with his guest from his show tonight, [livejournal.com profile] t_fey. There was an abundance of witty cynicism!

My staff and I get Independence Day week off, so I managed to party quite well, thank you very much. I don't drink nearly as much as I used to... and frankly, I don't have to to have a good time. That's the sure sign of a true party animal. Bill took everything in stride. He actually seemed delighted to close the book on this chapter of his life and is very much ready to move on to his next project: setting up a website and running it from his parents' basement.

I'm kidding! He's trying to talk me into letting him move in. Hea, hea! No.

In the end, Network Security unceremoniously took away his parking pass for the CBS lot and posted his picture on the bulletin board to make sure everyone on staff knew not to allow him back on the premises. Something to look forward to once the Late Late Show has finished its run. Don't worry... it won't be any time soon!

I'm not sure if Jimmy Kimmel will tape his program here or if ABC will spring for their own facilities. Did you know that Kimmel's show will debut right after the Super Bowl? Hey, no pressure there! Meanwhile... I have no idea what they're sticking in the P.I. slot from now until then! That's Seven Months of stuff!

Meanwhile, is it just me, or are there more earthquakes starting to happen? It seems like there's a bunch of tremors starting to happen, and I mean noticible ones, not just the gentle rocking kind. Personally, I feel like I'm on shaky ground on just about every front as it is. I don't need any Bad Vibrations, or Good Vibrations, for that matter!

And, of course, there is the small matter of "Family Feud." We still don't know when it's going to happen, but it certainly didn't happen tonight. We'll see if we can get it done before the 4th.

Proud.
Try reading [livejournal.com profile] alexei_yagudin's entries out loud.
I got to make an appearance at [livejournal.com profile] cravenmoorehead's BBQ this afternoon. Unfortunately, I didn't get to stay very long. It was very well attended and quite lively, so that was great!

I brought along some filet mignon steakburgers for the grill and wound up cooking for about an hour, while various people threw various other people and/or jumped into the pool in various states of undress and/or played Chicken.

Despite the fact that Craven insisted it was "NOT a sex party," there was no shortage of libido around there. I'm sure you'll read the transcripts and accounts all over the place. I'm keeping it very PG rated here, though.

Alyson was sweet... Marla and Nat were perpetually wet, Thalia was perpetually nude, And Andy was RANDY!

It was a swell time, and I'm sure there will be more coming up.
