The Upcoming Week W/Craiggers...
May. 5th, 2003 11:53 amI trust everybody had a great weekend, and if you didn't, there's always hope in the new week.
A week is like a great opportunity to make something happen. According to some, the world was created in a week. Think how wonderfully your life can change during a single week!
Sure,
k_clarkson bagged on us last week. But, you know, that's going to work out great. The real reason for the postponement was so she could come in and discuss her very special movie when it is about to open!!! It'll be a chance to plug her album and the movie all at once. Stay tuned for that.
In the meantime, and in-between time, there's this week, which is the most important week of our lives. Because, of course, we're living it NOW.
And, the most important thing to know about is the NBA Playoffs!!!
The Los Angeles Lakers enter the second round, and the San Antonio Spurs, with the league MVP for the second year in a row Tim Duncan (getting past Minnesota Timberwolves' superstar Kevin Garnett to win the voting) will be the opponent.
Once again, the other team has "home court advantage," so the first two games of the series will be played on the road. Tonight and Wednesday at 6:30 local time, the Lakers play the first two games of the series @ the SBC Center.
But come Friday, it's back to Staples for Game 3! So, you'll know where I'll be Friday @ 7:30pm!!!
If you have never been to an NBA game in person and you have ever watched a game on television, I have to tell you, It's a different world completely. Really, there's no experience quite like it, especially if you get courtside seats, like I do. The crowd, the action, the food, the fun! Basketball is Nature's perfect sport.
If you ever have the opportunity to go to a game, especially a playoff game, jump at the chance! Then, you would completely understand why I talk so much about it. Even if you get a cheap seat up in the rafters of whatever stadium is nearest you (sorry, New Yorkers! Hea, hea!), you should go! Actually, I guess Knick fans can cross over to Jersey and watch the Nets meet the Celtics!
Now. Turning to the CBS telecasts for the week, you have to check in with us on TUESDAY. That's when...

Lacey
chabert
...drops by. No doubt she'll be discussing her appearance in the new Eddie Murphy laughfest, "Daddy Day Care."
Even though I still think of her as the sweet and darling violinist Claudia from Fox's "Party of Five," it's great that Lacey is getting out there and doing stuff that you can see her face in, (besides her continuing role as the voice of Eliza on "The Wild Thornberrys"). Heck, maybe it's time for her to do another Maxim shoot? I think she's become quite the downloaded "IT" girl for all of those frat boys and teens out there, even though I frequently think she's
joeylaurenadams when she calls!
Thursday, Famke Janssen is here, talking about the big smash hit #1 worldwide event film "X Men 2." If she has a journal, I need to know about it immediately.
And another person who should have a journal but doesn't is Lokelani McMichael. Who is that, you ask?

Lokelani
She's a triathlete from Hawaii who also does some modeling on the side. She'll join Famke on Thursday.
PIMPAGE ALERT!!!!!
I also wanted to point out that tonight's episode of Punk'd (MTV @ 10:30e/p) will feature the lovely and talented
r_dawson, who just undeleted her account from LAST SUMMER! If you could, go over to her journal, welcome her back and encourage Rosario to post every now and then.
I'm still plotting the details for the return of the
late_late_show, which I hope will be back at the end of the month. I need to start booking guests, so that's on my "TO DO" list for this week.
No word yet about the Bubble Awards, and I'm beginning to think that those may be postponed or, more likely, cancelled. Too bad about that.
Maybe if there was some show of support for the MBP Awards, the people involved might be encouraged to continue with them??? Or maybe I should conduct a poll question in
must_be_pop? Just thinking out loud, here.
Anyway. Ok! That's it. Stay focused, stay centered, keep your eye on the goal. Have a fantastic week!
